Dynamic Waist Adjustment Track for Garments

Inventor: Samir Eltom

Related Concept: Compatible with elastic belt systems including Ritmeco Belt

1. Technical Field

This invention relates to garment waist fastening systems, specifically to a movable track mechanism integrated into the front closure area of pants or trousers, enabling controlled horizontal displacement of the waistband button during sitting, stretching, or movement.

2. Background Problem

Conventional pants use a fixed button and buttonhole closure. When seated:

  • Abdominal expansion increases waist circumference.

  • Pressure builds at the button area.

  • Users must either:

    • Fully unbutton the pants (socially awkward),

    • Loosen the belt,

    • Or tolerate discomfort.

Elastic belts partially solve this but the pant closure remains rigid.

There is currently no integrated sliding track system allowing the waist button to move within a defined controlled range.

3. Summary of the Invention

The invention consists of:

A. Metal Extension Track (A)

A rigid or semi-rigid metal plate installed at the waistband front opening after partial removal of fabric at the buttonhole area.

B. Dual Anchoring Elements (B)

Two fixed projecting elements attached to the extension plate.

C. Internal Counter Anchors (C)

Two corresponding components mounted behind the waistband fabric (one upper, one lower) securing the extension in place.

D. Movable Button (D)

The pant button is positioned such that it slides within a predefined horizontal track channel in the extension plate.

E. Waistband Fabric (E)

Standard pant structure retained.

F. Modified Buttonhole Area (F)

A portion of the original buttonhole edge is trimmed using scissors to create space for installation of the extension track while maintaining structural edge integrity.

4. Operation

  1. The user sits.

  2. The abdomen expands.

  3. The button (D) moves along the horizontal track within extension (A).

  4. The waist circumference increases slightly.

  5. When standing, waistband tension returns button to original position.

Movement range is controlled and limited to prevent accidental opening.

5. Compatibility

The system functions:

  • With Ritmeco elastic belts

  • With other elastic belts

  • With traditional belts (when loosened slightly)

  • Without a belt

The mechanism is belt-independent but synergistic with elastic belt systems.

6. Advantages

  • Maintains dignity (no full unbuttoning)

  • Controlled expansion (not open waist)

  • Improved comfort when seated

  • Adjustable tension zone

  • Retrofittable to existing garments

  • Could be factory-integrated in new pants

7. Variations

  • Track made of metal, polymer, composite

  • Sliding button head or sliding plate system

  • Spring-loaded return option

  • Multi-position locking stops

  • Decorative outer cover version

  • Invisible internal track version

8. Distinction Over Existing Solutions

Unlike:

  • Elastic waistbands

  • Stretch denim

  • Side elastic inserts

  • Hook-based expanders

This system provides a guided sliding button track mechanism integrated into the front closure area.
