Title: Belt with Front Button-Release for Sitting Comfort
Abstract:
The invention relates to a belt design intended to improve comfort when sitting by allowing the wearer to partially release the belt at the front without removing it from the waist. Unlike designs incorporating hidden elastic sections, this belt uses a front-positioned button mechanism for quick loosening and re-fastening.
Description:
The belt consists of a standard elongated strap made from leather, fabric, or synthetic material, fitted with a conventional buckle for size adjustment during wear. On one side of the buckle region, between the main strap and the buckle tongue section, a button-and-hole or snap-button mechanism is integrated.
When the wearer is standing or walking, the button remains fastened, maintaining the normal fit determined by the buckle adjustment. When the wearer sits down — for example, in an office chair, a car seat, or on public transport — the button can be undone, creating a small gap at the front of the waistline. This relieves abdominal pressure without loosening the belt from the waist or altering the buckle setting.
When the wearer stands up again, the button is re-fastened to restore the standard snug fit. This system allows on-demand waistline expansion without elastic materials or hidden stretch sections, and without removing or re-threading the belt.
Key Features:
-
Standard Buckle Adjustment: The buckle is used for the main sizing of the belt and remains unchanged during use.
-
Front Button Mechanism: The button or snap is placed near the buckle for quick access.
-
Non-Elastic Design: All strap materials are fixed in length, without any integrated stretch section.
-
Quick Comfort Mode: The button can be undone and re-fastened in seconds, even while seated.
-
Universal Style: Works with leather dress belts, casual belts, or fabric belts.
Intended Benefits:
-
Reduces waist compression and discomfort while sitting.
-
Avoids the permanent stretch or wear issues seen in elastic belts.
-
Simple, low-cost manufacturing using standard belt-making methods.
